The following tent
is a 1840-style used in the Civil War. Note the high peak
9'. The purpose of this is to use a ridge pole and two uprights
(inside poles) and pull the sided walls out with ropes attached
to the loops on the side wall eaves.
This method requires
only three poles and erects quite easily. Please note: as
ropes holding sidewalls stretch out, the walls will sag, requiring
tightening of ropes.
